For over eight years Southern Protocol has quietly earned the reputation as being the best entertainers- with a dash of Southern style! Nestled in a 1949 bungalow “home office”, owner Lizz Akerman and her fabulous team, including lead coordinator Sara Hosch, spend their days planning, designing, and coordinating gracious, charming and stylish events.
Our boutique size allows us to develop close relationships with each client, helping them to define every little detail that will make their event unique, flawless and perfect!
Lizz Akerman, Owner
Having grown up in the event planning industry, Lizz prides herself on her experience, organization, and sassy, but truly Southern approach to planning the perfect event. A born entertainer, Lizz had her first glimpse of her future career as her sorority’s social chair, and from there she knew that she could turn that passion into a really fabulous company. Lizz resides in Charleston, SC with her husband, John; three children, Jack, Charlie and Lola; and the dog you often hear barking in the office, “Bubba.”

Sara Hosch, Coordinator
Sara is a graduate of the University of Georgia with a degree in Consumer Journalism and Fashion Merchandising. She brings her experience in the worlds of fashion styling and writing as well as event planning to the Southern Protocol family; she has worked with stylists in London, England and Athens, Georgia, and has served in numerous event planning positions in the past. Sara’s outgoing personality and love of helping people achieve their visions of a perfect event are a flawless fit for Southern Protocol and the beautiful city of Charleston.
