We’re all dressing to impress during holiday cocktail parties – you want to wow those you rarely see and confirm beliefs that you are always fashionable to those you see weekly. Tights are a great addition to any above- or at-the-knee skirt or dress ensemble…such a wide array of colors and textures always give a touch of fashion-forwardness.
But! An easy way to elongate your legs whilst wearing tights? Wear shoes in the same color. Black tights, black shoes. Brown tights, brown shoes. Gray tights, gray shoes. For colors that are a bit trickier to match exactly – like dark greens or purples – just go with a darker colored shoe. It tricks the eye into seeing one long, straight line!
And if you just can’t resist those tights in crazy bright colors, keep the shoe neutral; that will keep the attention on the statement-making tights, and away from the straps on your shoes…again making a nice long silhouette.
