Finally the new John Mayer cd is on my iTunes! The CD, as I’m sure most everyone knows, came out yesterday after (in my opinion) relatively little press attention. And I’m absolutely loving it…so perfect for the fall weather. Uber chill and more of his spot-on “I know EXACTLY what he’s talking about” incredible lyrics mean that Battle Studies will be on many a most played playlist for awhile to come!
I’m not even sure I could pick a favorite yet, as it took me until last night to actually download…I’m thinking Edge of Desire and Assassin are right up there though. His lyrics, especially when paired with those emotional music interludes that just sound like someone crying or emoting, are incredibly touching. I think it could possibly rival everything else he’s done!
I may just find a reason to drive all over town today, simply to have one of those “lost in thought” driving montages…one of the best therapeutic practices out there!
