The Anniversary Box

May 12th, 2010 by Sara

Glam.com, one of my favorite fashion and general buzz blogs to peruse on a daily basis, featured one of the most precious, meaningful things on their website this morning: Happily Ever AfterWord’s Anniversary Box.

Here’s how it works: guests at any of your wedding events (showers, parties, rehearsal, or even the actual wedding) write down words of wisdom and encouragement on what it means to love and grow with your significant other, or maybe even just about life in general, I suppose. The messages (which are on beautifully elegant stationary, by the way) are then split up into envelopes labeled 1-50; on every wedding anniversary thereafter you open the year’s corresponding envelope and read your guests’ advice! I AM OBSESSED WITH THIS!

Good news: I heard on Today this week that divorce rates are actually lowering with every generation! It’s nowhere NEAR 50/50 anymore, but that doesn’t mean that marriage is easy. How fabulous to open up an envelope and read words of advice from family and friends that remind you of why you married your spouse? I think it’s perfection.

The story behind the company is very sweet and touching – go to their website to get the history and even more information about this most thoughtful and unique of all gifts.

I want to visit your website more frequently, but these days it seems to be taking a really long time to load in my browser. I visit from work, which I know I shouldn’t do, but our internet hookup is really fast. Is the site having some maintenance done or something?

You’ve really become a great writer. I remember when I first started visiting this blog and I thought you had a lot of potential. It’s great to see your hard work paying off and it looks like you’re getting a ton of comments. Congrats!

It seems to me that this site doesn’t load on a Motorla Droid. Are other people having the same problem? I enjoy this website and don’t want to have to skip it when I’m away from my computer.
