The Blind Side

I love a good football movie, and I love it even more when it’s a perfect family movie. Friday Night Lights and Remember the Titans are two DVDs that have seen some serious playtime in my house. I’m beyond excited to add another one to the list: The Blind Side.
First of all, I am a HUGE Sandra Bullock fan. I am also a huge Tim McGraw fan (especially when he’s playing a sweet character with a full head of hair – something that he hasn’t done too often in his acting career). Finally, I am a huge fan of true stories, because it almost overwhelms me with empathetic emotions (see the movie description/real life story here…if you don’t want to see it after that you’re crazy!). So going into The Blind Side the other night I may or may not have been a little biased in favor of liking the flick…but because God loves me and didn’t want my family to blame me for another awful Thanksgiving Eve movie choice, the movie was one of the best I’ve seen in awhile.
Not to be cliche, but it seriously does make you pass through every emotion in its two hour duration; you’re laughing out loud (the son, SJ, is superbly funny), you’re holding your breath, you’re feeling your heart break…it’s perfect!
Perhaps most importantly, the movie shows us how truly life-changing loving and being loved in return can be. Talk about a movie for the holiday season – go see it with friends and family ASAP!
