Southern Protocol has recently ventured into the world of Twitter. I’ll be honest, at first I was in the “this is so pointless” camp. New confession: it’s semi-addicting! And what a great way to get messages out there; there are countless businesses using the newest social media for promotions and branding.
Cupcake, the super sweet bakery on King Street, is one of the many businesses doing exactly that – and they’re doing a brilliant job. They have implemented random “happy hours” advertised last minute to all of Twitter nation. At any given time, their Twitter is updated saying that for the next hour a certain type of cupcake is free. FREE! CUPCAKES!
Apparently the happy hours are so popular that there is literally a line out the door every time they do one. I just think that’s so incredible! So for all you tweeters out there, be sure to add freshcupcakes to your following list.
Way to go Cupcake… and now that I am following you, too, I hope to see you soon

T-Minus one day til 90% of Americans are in a bad mood. And what always cures a bad mood? …Or at least makes it a teensy bit better?
ICE CREAM, duh! In honor of Tax Day Maggie Moo’s Ice Cream and Treatery is hosting an Ice Cream Relief event. Stop into their Church Street location downtown between 3-7 tomorrow and receive a FREE sample slice of their “one of a kind Maggie-Mia’s Ice Cream Pizza.”
I was thoroughly intrigued by what a Maggie-Mia Ice Cream Pizza could possibly be, so I headed over to their website; it is literally a cookie crust with ice cream, chocolate and all kinds of fun candies on top. I’m sure it will be a busy, crowded day at Maggie Moo’s, but I’m up for waiting in line for that treat!
