She’s Baaaack

Lindsay Lohan

Well, it turns out that Lindsay “Doesn’t Like Pants” Lohan didn’t get the boot from Ungaro after all. She will remain artistic advisor to the fashion house for at least one more go-round.

While her debut collection in the role was slammed – too harshly, according to Ungaro president Mounir Mourfarridge, who says that the line actually did sell pretty well (I’m sure…I was clamoring to get those heart pasties) – the line is giving her another chance to prove herself. I’m all for second chances, and as much as I am skeptical of the girl, I’m really hoping she can make a comeback. A mini-Britney, if you will.

Part of me is thinking that maybe they should just have her as the face of the brand and not be creatively involved. But hey, at least we’re in for another treat come fall.

Lindsay-Lohan-Ungaro-5

Can we be serious for a second?

How absolutely SLAMMED did the hot mess that is Lindsay Lohan get when the results of her “style consulting” position walked down Ungaro’s spring runway? How much fun did everyone make of her? (My fave was Style.com: “This turned into one joke of a fashion show.” OUCHIES). How much were we all thinking, “yeah…I’m not taking style ques from the girl who sells ripped leather leggings with studs for $300…”

Even Emanuel Ungaro himself publicly dissed Lohan this month when she was fired from her position, saying he was powerless to prevent the deal from going through because he sold his house in 2005. It’s just been a bad couple of years for Lindsay.

And yet. AND YET. It was announced last week that Lohan landed another “style consultant” job, this go round with jeweler Pascal Mouawad. Apparently she’s helping them with some sort of exclusive line for bebe.

Now listen. I loved Lindsay in The Parent Trap. And I’ll admit that I secretly enjoyed Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen. And I can easily say that Mean Girls is one of the best films of all time. However. When she started dying her hair and not wearing pants in public, that’s when I stopped looking at her as any sort of “style” icon…am I alone in this? Sure I feel badly for Lindsay and all the negative press she’s getting; but I just hate when celebrities get chances in the fashion world when they simply don’t deserve them.

Maybe she’ll surprise us all and actually consult positive things…but I’m thinking the new line will be SO not fetch.
