Alexis Bittar Cuff

by Sara

I don’t really mind airports and the horror that can be traveling these days as long as I have something to occupy my time (in between bouts of people watching, which is highly entertaining at airports); like a stack of magazines! If I know I’m going to be making a journey, I save all that month’s issues and catch up en route… which is exactly what I did over the holidays.

While browsing through Elle somewhere over Tennessee (which, incidentally, is a magazine I always forget about, but really is one of the best), I came across this GORGEOUS cuff that Alexis Bittar designed for Jason Wu’s runway collection earlier this year and immediately fell in love. Wu went to Bittar straightaway, knowing that the trendy jewelry designer’s trademark ” flowing metalwork” would be the perfect complement to his pretty-but-edgy collection. The result? This amazing cuff with a huge bow on top – all made of metal, but with such movement!

Luckily for all of us, she created a version for her stores, seen above, which can be found on her website! So take all that moolah you received last Saturday – or the cash you now have from some inevitable returns – and invest in this great piece that can be worn all year!

Lily Looking Lovely

Lily Allen has some fun, funky music…but she is generally a pretty big trainwreck. Call me crazy, but I am slightly apprehensive of a girl who consistently looks like she’s drained all the cider from the nearest pub, has a cigarette in hand in probably every picture ever taken, and sports makeup that she doesn’t ever wash off, but instead just adds a new layer every morning.

Perhaps because of this generally consistent “style” of hers, I did not even realize that Lily Allen is that sensationally beautiful Brit in the new Chanel ads! I mean seriously – girlfriend looks absolutely stunning. She’s clean! She’s perky! She’s wearing chic ensembles!  Lily has made it known the past few years that she’s a die-hard Chanel fan, always carrying the quilted bags that somewhat clash with her otherwise British punk vibe, and frequenting the house’s runway shows. If I had to guess I’d say it is her mere dedication to the brand that landed her the coveted “face of Chanel” gig – because her personal aesthetic and lifestyle are so anti-Coco.

Doesn’t she look like a modern Audrey Hepburn? Maybe she’ll fall in the love with the pearls, LBDs and ruffles and spend more time cleaning up her look…Chanel can change a girl!
