Now that Halloween is behind us – hope y’all had a VERY festive Halloween weekend, by the way! – it is officially “the holidays”. At least it is in this day in age, when Christmas decor goes up the middle of October. While I do wish that places would give Thanksgiving its full run of glory in terms of holiday cheer, I am not one to complain about shopping events and sales that have Christmas motivations!

Which is why I am super excited about this Thursday, November 4th, as some of our favorite Charleston boutiques are joining forces to help you get a jump start on your holiday shopping. Monkee’s, Thera M., iHeart, House of Sage, and II Brunettes invite you to their shopping event from 10 am to 6 pm, where they will have tons of adorable gift ideas, sales, and chances to win coveted gift certificates.

Anyone who knows me knows that it’s no secret I love J. Crew; a solid half of my wardrobe hails from the store of modern preppiness, and I love venturing in whenever I get the chance. As much as I heart it, their increasing price tags over the past few years have been rough on my wallet… which is why I was thrilled to receive an email last week introducing something fabulous: The J. Crew Factory Weekends.

The website, open Friday at midnight through Sunday at midnight only (eastern time), has pages upon pages of discounted merchandise from the regular store, as well as pieces designed especially for the Factory. And you would not BELIEVE the prices! There’s t-shirts, sweaters, jeans, jewelry, skirts… everything!

I’m getting the skirt above for sure… it’s $10 off its original price. Naturally I would be drawn to the item that is the LEAST on sale, but hey.. a discount is a discount! For those of you unfamiliar with Net-A-Porter.com, it’s essentially the online go-to for high end merchandise; think Saks, Neimans, and Bergdorf’s virtual counterpart. While NAP has always had a clearance section, they decided to expand on it, probably listening to the thousands of customers who voiced their desire for more deals and steals.

TheOutNet has tons of designer brands way on clearance that will make any shopper giddy: Chloe, Louboutin, Herve Leger, Marc Jacobs, YSL… the list goes on and on! What makes the site more unique is its “special events.” They will randomly have “Flash Sales” – a certain item is put up for sale for a certain time frame, and gets cheaper and cheaper as the clock winds down; the longer you wait, the cheaper the garment will be… but the smaller chance you have of getting it before it sells out. Oh, the anticipation!

I always forget how much I love the outdoor, foreign market feel of World Market. All their products, whether wine or food or art or furniture, just seem to exude unique chic simply by being within the walls of this store. It’s a great place to hit when you’re looking for specialty foods or quality furnishings and decor.

So especially if you’re in the market for home updates, get to the World Market on Orleans Road this week! Wall art, furniture, decor and even some fun trinkets are up to 50% off! I personally purchased a gorgeous, art-nouveau-esque set of three paintings for only $50. It was a miracle I walked out of there without buying everything!
